The M3i uses circuit topology and high quality internal components drawn not only from the M6i, but also derived from the legendary Musical Fidelity Titan power amplifier.

The power amplifier section of the M3i consists of two top quality power amplifiers in dual mono configuration using tried and tested circuitry for the absolute best in separation and imaging. Generously rated, they boast more than enough current reserve to drive even the most demanding loudspeakers with ease. Low distortion and very quiet they will deliver all music types exactly as the artist originally intended.

The M3i delivers a healthy 70 watts per channel into 8 ohms, providing 25 amps of peak-to-peak current for the power on demand that movie soundtracks and orchestral works thrive upon.

Exclusive Bifilar Choke Regulation

The M3i's advanced power supply is exceptionally quiet, thanks to choke regulation, which is a concept dating back to tube amp days. Musical Fidelity is the only company to use a version of this circuitry with solid state amps. Choke regulation offers huge power supply benefits, such as a reduction in 'sawtooth' power supply noise by 20 times and the elimination of higher order harmonics.

Typical choke designs can end up causing as many difficulties as they solve, because they create a magnetic field that has deleterious effects on the musical signal. But the bifilar choke regulation system used by Musical Fidelity cancels out the magnetic fields that other styles of chokes generate. The circuit takes advantage of a tried and true design. The company has been using this technology since 1987.

Tuned and Tweaked Preamp Section

A finely tuned and tweaked discrete 'Class A' preamplifier section completes the integrated amplifier, giving smooth sound from a compact looking full size unit. The preamp section is very low noise and low distortion, just as you would expect from Musical Fidelity.

Great attention has been paid to the M3i's internal layout, isolating each circuit section to prevent possible interaction. The resultant performance achieved by this unit is among the best in the world. It has excellent signal to noise ratio, low distortion, wide bandwidth and dynamic range, with extraordinary resolution and fine detail.
