A New Generation of Italian Luxury Loudspeakers
The Sonus faber Olympica V G3 represents the most significant evolution of the Olympica collection since its introduction over a decade ago. Inspired by the timeless architecture of Vicenza's Teatro Olimpico and infused with technologies developed for the flagship Suprema and Amati Supreme, the Olympica V G3 establishes a new benchmark for natural musical reproduction, Italian craftsmanship, and acoustic innovation.
Handcrafted in Vicenza, Italy, the Olympica V G3 continues Sonus faber's tradition of blending fine furniture craftsmanship with world-class loudspeaker engineering. Its iconic asymmetrical lute-shaped cabinet remains a defining characteristic of the collection, reducing internal standing waves while creating an elegant visual presence that is unmistakably Sonus faber. New 45-degree herringbone wood veneers, precision-machined aluminum trim, and an updated top plate further elevate the speaker's appearance while reinforcing its connection to the company's flagship designs.
More than a cosmetic redesign, the Olympica V G3 introduces an entirely new acoustic platform. Drawing directly from research conducted during the development of the Suprema, Sonus faber engineers redesigned nearly every critical component of the loudspeaker, resulting in lower distortion, greater transparency, faster transient response, and a significantly more immersive listening experience than the previous generation.
At the heart of the Olympica V G3 is the new 6.5-inch Camelia midrange driver. Originally developed for the flagship Suprema, its unique non-circular diaphragm geometry reduces the resonances commonly found in traditional circular cones, allowing the entire diaphragm to contribute more evenly to sound reproduction. Combined with a new solid aluminum phase plug and integrated damping ring, the Camelia driver delivers exceptional vocal realism, tonal neutrality, and remarkably consistent performance throughout the listening room.
Supporting the new driver architecture are Sonus faber's patented organic die-cast aluminum baskets, designed to improve airflow while minimizing unwanted reflections behind the drivers. This nature-inspired structure increases mechanical rigidity and contributes to cleaner, more open sound with improved dynamic expression. Completely redesigned woofers provide deeper, tighter bass while maintaining the effortless musicality for which Sonus faber is renowned.
One of the most important advancements inside the Olympica V G3 is its acoustically optimized internal chamber. The tweeter and midrange are housed within a dedicated enclosure damped using a specially engineered recycled cork structure derived from the Suprema project. This natural material absorbs unwanted energy while preserving speed, resolution, and tonal accuracy, allowing voices and acoustic instruments to emerge with remarkable realism and texture.
The newly developed Phase Coherent crossover with Sonus faber's IFF Paracross topology carefully synchronizes each driver's acoustic output to preserve timing relationships throughout the frequency spectrum. The result is a soundstage that extends beyond the boundaries of the loudspeakers, producing exceptional image focus, depth, and spatial realism while maintaining the company's celebrated Natural Sound philosophy.
Whether reproducing the delicate intimacy of a jazz trio or the full dynamic scale of a symphony orchestra, the Olympica V G3 combines effortless bass authority, an extraordinarily transparent midrange, and refined high frequencies into a presentation that is emotionally engaging and remarkably lifelike. Every design decision serves a single purpose: to bring listeners closer to the original musical performance.
