The Marantz Grand Horizon is the flagship model in Marantz's wireless speaker range, combining a large multi-driver acoustic system, Marantz Rise GaN FET amplification, HEOS streaming and HDMI eARC in a single enclosure. It is designed to function as a complete high-performance music system while also serving as a premium television speaker.
The Grand Horizon uses a substantially larger driver array than the standard Horizon. A dedicated 8-inch Marantz Gravity bass driver is joined by four 3-inch wideband drivers and three 1-inch high-frequency drivers. Neodymium magnets are used throughout the Gravity driver system. The arrangement provides broad sound dispersion from the enclosure while allowing the speaker to produce considerably more low-frequency output and overall acoustic power.
Marantz's Rise amplification platform uses GaN FET technology and delivers 370 watts of FTC-rated amplifier power. Peak amplifier power is rated at 860 watts, with 1,400 watts listed as the peak raw amplifier power. Marantz Mirage DSP manages the signal processing and integration of the individual drivers, extending the acoustic output beyond the physical dimensions of the cabinet.
The Grand Horizon reaches from 28Hz to 20kHz within ±3dB, with bass extension to 18Hz at -10dB. Maximum SPL is rated at 111dB at one meter, with peak output reaching 122dB. This gives the Grand Horizon considerably more headroom than a typical compact wireless speaker.
Marantz Radiance 360° Seamless Fabric surrounds the speaker, providing an acoustically transparent covering while maintaining the Grand Horizon's distinctive appearance. Marantz AuraControl adds control over the speaker's visual presentation and integrated lighting.
HEOS provides access to a wide range of streaming services and allows the Grand Horizon to become part of a multi-room system with other HEOS products. It supports Spotify Connect, TIDAL, Qobuz, Amazon Music, Pandora, Deezer, TuneIn, SiriusXM and other services. AirPlay 2 and Bluetooth 5.4 provide additional wireless playback options.
The Grand Horizon can also serve as the central audio system for a television. HDMI eARC/ARC provides a direct connection to a compatible TV, while Dolby Atmos and Dolby TrueHD decoding allow the speaker to process compatible spatial and multichannel content. Stereo and 7.1-channel PCM are supported at resolutions up to 192kHz/24-bit, along with DSD up to 5.6MHz.
Physical connections include stereo RCA, optical digital and USB-C storage, while Ethernet and dual-band Wi-Fi provide network connectivity. The Grand Horizon also supports network shares and UPnP, allowing music stored on a local network to be played through the speaker.
With its 8-inch bass driver, 370 watts of FTC-rated amplification, 122dB peak SPL capability and extensive streaming and connectivity options, the Grand Horizon is designed as a full-scale high-end audio system rather than a conventional compact wireless speaker.
