The NAD CI 8-120 DSP v2 is an eight-channel power amplifier designed for whole-home audio, multi-zone systems and custom-install applications where reliable power and flexible system configuration are important. It combines NAD's HybridDigital amplification platform with custom Hypex UcD output stages, integrated DSP and a compact 1U rack-mount chassis.
The amplifier delivers 120 watts per channel into 8 ohms with all eight channels operating simultaneously, or more than 135 watts per channel into 4 ohms. Channel pairs can also be bridged when additional output is required, making the CI 8-120 DSP v2 suitable for larger zones or architectural subwoofer applications.
NAD uses its Full Disclosure Power specification to rate the amplifier with all channels driven across the full 20Hz–20kHz bandwidth. The efficient HybridDigital design keeps heat and power consumption relatively low, which is particularly useful in rack-mounted installations where several amplifiers may operate continuously.
Integrated DSP allows the installer to configure each system around the speakers and room. The web-based interface provides control over system settings, inputs and outputs, zone configuration and DSP parameters. Peak and RMS limiters provide speaker protection, while crossover adjustment allows the amplifier to be used with integrated subwoofer systems.
The CI 8-120 DSP v2 can be configured through its web interface without requiring dedicated installation software. A real-time dashboard provides access to important system information and operating parameters.
At only 1U high, the amplifier is well suited to equipment racks where space is limited. Line-level inputs provide flexible system integration, while signal sensing and trigger control allow the amplifier to be incorporated into automated home systems.
