The NAD CI 8-150 DSP v2 is an eight-channel power amplifier designed for high-performance custom installation, distributed audio and home theater systems. It combines NAD's HybridDigital amplification platform with customized Hypex nCore output stages, onboard DSP and flexible channel configuration in a 2U rack-mount chassis.
The amplifier delivers 150 watts per channel into 8 ohms with all eight channels operating simultaneously. It also provides 180 watts per channel into 4 ohms, giving the CI 8-150 DSP v2 enough current capability for demanding architectural speakers and larger distributed-audio systems.
For applications requiring additional power, pairs of channels can be bridged. In bridged operation, the amplifier can produce 280 watts into 8 ohms with all channels operating. This makes it possible to dedicate bridged channels to higher-power zones or passive architectural subwoofers.
NAD's Full Disclosure Power specification is based on continuous output across the full 20Hz–20kHz bandwidth with all channels driven. This provides a more useful indication of the amplifier's real-world capability in multi-channel installations than a two-channel power rating.
The integrated DSP gives installers extensive control over each zone and speaker system. The web-based interface provides configuration of input and output levels, zones and DSP parameters, while PEQ, high-pass and low-pass filters, phase, delay, tilt and speaker protection through Peak and RMS limiters can be used to optimize the system.
The v2 platform also adds a redesigned web interface with a real-time dashboard showing input levels, temperature and operating status. Zones can be grouped for simpler configuration, and the amplifier supports a library of DSP speaker profiles for compatible architectural speakers.
Flexible installation features include signal-sensing turn-on, 12V trigger control, network standby and rack mounting. Larger Phoenix speaker connectors accommodate speaker cable up to 10 AWG.
