The Paradigm Premier 720F v2 is a compact three-way floorstanding speaker designed to deliver the scale and output of a floorstander without requiring the physical footprint of a larger tower. It combines Paradigm's AL-MAC ceramic dome tweeter, AL-MAG midrange, and dual Carbon-X bass drivers with OSW waveguide and PPA phase-alignment technology.
The 720F v2 is designed around a 4-driver, 3-way configuration, with a dedicated 6-inch midrange handling the critical vocal and instrumental range and two 6-inch woofers providing the low-frequency foundation. With 92dB room sensitivity and compatibility with amplifiers from 15 to 220 watts, it is suitable for a wide range of two-channel and home theater systems.
AL-MAC Ceramic Dome Tweeter
The 1-inch AL-MAC tweeter combines aluminum, magnesium, and ceramic into a rigid diaphragm designed to minimize unwanted resonances. It uses an Oblate Spheroid Waveguide (OSW) to control dispersion and a Perforated Phase-Aligning (PPA) Lens to improve the transition between the tweeter and midrange.
The tweeter is ferro-fluid damped and cooled for improved thermal performance and consistent operation during demanding listening.
AL-MAG Midrange
A dedicated 6-inch AL-MAG midrange driver handles the majority of the vocal and instrumental range. Its aluminum/magnesium cone is designed for a combination of rigidity, low mass, and controlled response.
The midrange incorporates a PPA Lens and a 2-inch high-temperature multilayer voice coil with a ventilated Apical former. A dedicated midrange allows the 720F v2 to keep the critical midband separate from the demands placed on the bass drivers.
Carbon-X Bass Drivers
The 720F v2 uses two 6-inch Carbon-X unibody bass drivers. The single-piece cone construction is designed to provide high rigidity while keeping moving mass under control.
Both woofers incorporate Paradigm's Gen3 Active Ridge Technology (ART) and Vertical Mounting System (VMS). The ART surround is molded directly onto the cone and allows greater excursion than a conventional surround, while VMS increases the usable cone area within the driver platform.
The result is a floorstanding speaker capable of reaching 27Hz using Paradigm's DIN low-frequency measurement.
Controlled Dispersion and Cabinet Design
The OSW waveguide and PPA Lens work together to maintain controlled dispersion and consistent response across a wider listening area. Paradigm specifies ±3dB response from 55Hz to 23kHz on-axis and from 55Hz to 20kHz at 30 degrees off-axis.
The 720F v2's cabinet is 39.6 inches tall and 12.5 inches wide, making it considerably easier to accommodate than a large high-output floorstanding speaker. Outrigger feet with rubber floor protectors are included.
