The AudioSolutions Vantage B is a compact three-way loudspeaker from the Vantage 5th Anniversary flagship series. Although it is technically a bookshelf or standmount design, its down-firing 22cm woofer means it is intended to be used on a dedicated stand rather than placed directly on a bookshelf.
 
The Vantage B was developed for rooms where the listening distance is relatively short but a full-range, full-scale presentation is still desired. With its three-driver configuration and 30Hz in-room extension, it is designed to deliver much more low-frequency weight and dynamic scale than its compact footprint suggests.
 
Three-Way Driver Design
The Vantage B combines a 2.5cm beryllium-dome tweeter, a 17cm Egyptian Papyrus wideband midrange and a 22cm paper-cone woofer.
 
The woofer fires downward from the cabinet, leaving the front baffle dedicated to the midrange and tweeter. AudioSolutions describes the Vantage B as being closer to a point-source design than the larger Vantage models, making it particularly well suited to shorter listening distances.
 
The 17cm midrange covers a broad portion of the musical spectrum, while the dedicated woofer handles the lower frequencies.
 
Beryllium Tweeter and Mini Horn
The Vantage B uses a customized 2.5cm beryllium-dome tweeter. Beryllium's low moving mass and high rigidity allow the diaphragm to operate with excellent speed and control at high frequencies.
 
AudioSolutions adds its mini-horn loading to increase efficiency and reduce distortion around the tweeter's operating range.
 
Siberian Birch Plywood Cabinet
The Vantage B uses SBP (Siberian Birch Plywood) for the internal labyrinth, sidewalls and curved top section. Siberian Birch is denser and tighter than conventional birch plywood, providing a rigid foundation for the enclosure.
The cabinet consists of an 18-layer sandwich of thin, directionally oriented wood sheets combined with HDF in critical areas. Three different adhesives with varying cured hardness are used throughout the construction.
 
The curved plywood surfaces retain controlled internal stress, which helps dissipate vibrational energy and suppress cabinet resonances.
 
Crossover
The Vantage B uses crossover points at 150Hz and 8kHz. High-grade Jantzen crossover components are used throughout the network.
WBT bi-wiring terminals allow separate connections to the crossover sections.
 
Finish
The Vantage B uses the distinctive Vantage 5th Anniversary finish, combining a durable polyurethane lacquer with crushed stone powder to create a matte surface with subtle glittering particles.
 
The rear of the cabinet and portions of the side panels use high-grade 3D hexa-textured vinyl. The exterior outlines are available in customizable colors, with matching hexa-style foot covers.
 
Standard Anniversary finishes include Wet Stone Grey with customizable vivid outlines, Anniversary White and Anniversary Black.
