The Paradigm Premier 520LCR v2 is a versatile three-way LCR speaker designed for use as a center channel, left/right front speaker, or part of a larger home theater system. Its sealed enclosure combines a coaxial AL-MAG midrange and AL-MAC tweeter with dual 6-inch Carbon-X bass drivers, giving the 520LCR v2 a compact footprint while maintaining the output and dynamic capability expected from a dedicated LCR speaker.
 
The 520LCR v2 incorporates the same core technologies used throughout the Premier v2 series, including AL-MAC, AL-MAG, Carbon-X, OSW, PPA, and Gen3 Active Ridge Technology.
 
Coaxial AL-MAG Midrange and AL-MAC Tweeter
The 1-inch AL-MAC ceramic dome tweeter is mounted coaxially within the 6-inch AL-MAG midrange driver. Combining the tweeter and midrange on a common acoustic axis helps maintain consistent imaging and dispersion across the critical vocal range.
 
The AL-MAC driver uses an aluminum, magnesium, and ceramic diaphragm designed to control unwanted resonances. It is ferro-fluid damped and cooled for improved thermal performance.
 
The AL-MAG midrange uses a 2-inch high-temperature multilayer voice coil with an Apical former and Paradigm's patented Dual-Sync Continuous Flux Motor.
 
OSW and PPA Technologies
Paradigm's Oblate Spheroid Waveguide (OSW) controls the tweeter's dispersion, while the Perforated Phase-Aligning (PPA) Lens helps maintain phase alignment between the tweeter and midrange.
 
The combination is particularly useful in an LCR application, where listeners may be positioned at different angles across the room. Paradigm specifies consistent response to 30 degrees off-axis, with the speaker maintaining ±3dB response from 75Hz to 20kHz.
 
Carbon-X Bass Drivers
Two 6-inch Carbon-X unibody bass drivers handle the lower frequencies. Their single-piece cone construction is designed for rigidity and controlled movement at higher output levels.
 
The bass drivers incorporate Paradigm's Gen3 Active Ridge Technology (ART) and Vertical Mounting System (VMS), along with 1-inch high-temperature multilayer voice coils and ventilated Apical formers.
 
The 520LCR v2 uses a sealed enclosure rather than a bass reflex port, making it particularly well suited to placement inside cabinetry or directly beneath a display.
 
LCR Versatility
The 520LCR v2 can be used horizontally as a center channel or vertically as a left or right front speaker. With 93dB room sensitivity and compatibility with 8-ohm amplification, it can deliver substantial output without requiring an especially powerful amplifier.
 
Its 23.4-inch width makes it considerably easier to integrate into a home theater cabinet or beneath a television than the larger Premier 620C v2.
