The Audeze LCD-S20 brings Audeze's planar magnetic technology into a closed-back headphone designed for both professional monitoring and everyday listening. It combines a 90mm planar magnetic driver with Audeze's Fluxor magnet array, Fazor phase management and SLAM acoustic management, with particular attention given to bass performance and passive isolation.
 
The LCD-S20 is designed for tracking and recording where isolation is important. Its acoustically damped earcups reduce external noise and help prevent microphone bleed, while the closed-back design also makes the headphones useful for listening in environments where an open-back model would allow too much sound in or out.
 
At the heart of the LCD-S20 is Audeze's Ultra-Thin Uniforce diaphragm. The planar magnetic driver provides the fast transient response associated with Audeze headphones, while SLAM is used to improve low-frequency control and dynamics. The result is a closed-back design with extended bass and low distortion without relying on active noise cancellation.
 
The 18-ohm impedance and 93dB sensitivity make the LCD-S20 relatively easy to drive from a wide range of equipment, including audio interfaces, mixing consoles, laptops and mobile devices. Audeze also designed the headphone with long listening sessions in mind, using an adjustable leather suspension headband and gel-filled earpads.
 
The earpads attach magnetically, allowing them to be replaced or customized without complicated disassembly. The cable can connect to either side of the headphone, adding flexibility for studio setups.
 
The LCD-S20 uses a combination of magnesium, aluminum and steel in its construction and is designed and precision engineered in Audeze's California workshop.
