The Marantz MODEL 30 is a premium integrated stereo amplifier built around a high-current Class D output stage, fully discrete circuitry, and Marantz HDAM-SA3 technology. Rated at 100 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 200 watts per channel into 4 ohms, the MODEL 30 has the power and current capability to drive a wide range of demanding loudspeakers.
 
The amplifier section uses a Hypex NC500-based switching amplifier with a dedicated SMPS600 power supply, while Marantz's HDAM-SA3 circuitry is used throughout the signal path. A high damping factor of 500 helps maintain tight control over the loudspeaker, particularly through the bass region.
 
Fully Discrete HDAM-SA3 Circuitry
Marantz uses its HDAM-SA3 technology in the MODEL 30's analog circuitry. Rather than relying on conventional integrated circuits for critical signal-processing stages, HDAM is built from individual components selected for high-speed operation and low distortion. The result is a clean, detailed signal path with a wide 5Hz-50kHz frequency response.
 
The MODEL 30 also uses a two-stage amplifier design intended to minimize interference between the input and power amplifier sections. Source Direct mode provides a shortened signal path when tone controls are not required.
 
High-Current Class D Amplification
The MODEL 30 combines Marantz's analog circuit design with a Hypex NC500-based Class D power amplifier. It delivers 100 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 200 watts per channel into 4 ohms, giving it substantial current capability for an integrated amplifier of its size.
 
A damping factor of 500 provides strong electrical control over the loudspeaker, while the amplifier's low 0.005% THD specification reflects the level of distortion performance Marantz designed into the output stage.
 
MM/MC Phono Stage
A built-in phono preamplifier supports both moving-magnet and moving-coil cartridges. The MC section provides three selectable loading options, allowing the MODEL 30 to accommodate a wider range of moving-coil cartridges without requiring an external phono stage.
 
The phono circuit has a rated RIAA deviation of ±0.5dB from 20Hz to 20kHz.
 
Flexible Analog Connectivity
The MODEL 30 is designed primarily as an analog integrated amplifier. It includes dedicated inputs for phono, CD, tuner, line-level sources and a recorder connection, along with a Power Amp Direct input that allows the internal power amplifier to be used independently of the MODEL 30's preamplifier section.
 
A variable preamp output is provided for connecting a powered subwoofer or external amplifier. The MODEL 30 does not include digital inputs, USB, HDMI, Ethernet, Wi-Fi or built-in streaming, making it a straightforward choice for systems where digital sources are handled by a separate DAC or network player.
 
Tone Controls and Source Direct
Bass and treble controls provide ±10dB of adjustment at 50Hz and 15kHz respectively, with a separate balance control. Source Direct bypasses the tone-control circuitry for a more direct signal path.
 
The front panel combines Marantz's modern industrial design with a central porthole OLED display, aluminum controls and dimmable edge lighting. The chassis uses a triple-layer construction with an aluminum front panel, aluminum side covers and a steel top cover.
