The Marantz MODEL M1 is a compact wireless streaming amplifier that combines 100 watts per channel of Class D amplification with HEOS streaming, high-resolution digital audio, HDMI eARC, Dolby Digital+ processing and a dedicated subwoofer output. Its small footprint makes it well suited to systems where a full-size integrated amplifier and separate streamer would be unnecessary.
 
Despite its compact 8.5-inch width, the MODEL M1 is designed as a complete two-channel system hub. It can stream music from a network, connect directly to a television, play files from USB storage, accept analog and optical sources, and drive a pair of conventional passive loudspeakers.
 
100-Watt Class D Amplification
The MODEL M1 delivers 100 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 125 watts per channel into 4 ohms. The amplifier is compatible with speakers from 4 to 16 ohms and uses a Class D output stage optimized for high power in a compact chassis.
The amplifier can also be configured for dual-mono operation. Adjustable high-pass and low-pass filters allow the MODEL M1 to be configured with a subwoofer or used as part of a more specialized speaker system.
 
HEOS Built-In Streaming
HEOS provides access to a broad range of music services directly from the MODEL M1. Spotify Connect, TIDAL, Qobuz, Amazon Music, Pandora, Deezer, SiriusXM, TuneIn and other services are available through the HEOS platform.
AirPlay 2 and Bluetooth provide additional wireless playback options. The MODEL M1 is also Roon Ready, making it suitable for systems built around Roon's library and playback platform.
 
Wired Ethernet and dual-band Wi-Fi are built in, while HEOS multi-room functionality allows the MODEL M1 to be grouped with other compatible HEOS products throughout the home.
 
High-Resolution Digital Audio
The MODEL M1 supports PCM audio up to 24-bit/192kHz and DSD playback up to 5.6MHz. USB storage devices can be connected directly, while network shares provide access to locally stored music.
 
Marantz Musical Digital Filtering (MMDF) is used as part of the digital signal processing, with the design intended to provide control over digital filtering while preserving detail and tonal character.
 
HDMI eARC and Dolby Digital+
HDMI eARC allows the MODEL M1 to connect directly to a compatible television. The amplifier can handle television audio while HDMI-CEC allows compatible TV and amplifier functions to be controlled together.
 
Dolby Digital and Dolby Digital+ decoding are supported, making the MODEL M1 suitable for both two-channel music and television or movie playback. Optical digital input provides another connection for a TV, CD player, game console or other digital source.
 
Subwoofer Integration
A dedicated mono RCA subwoofer output makes it easy to add a powered subwoofer. The MODEL M1 provides adjustable high-pass and low-pass filtering, with the high-pass filter adjustable from 40Hz to 250Hz and the low-pass filter from 40Hz to 120Hz.
 
Bass and treble controls provide ±5dB of adjustment, while Stereo and Direct modes allow the user to choose between additional processing and a more direct signal path.
 
Compact Design
The MODEL M1 measures only 8.54 inches wide, 9.41 inches deep and 3.31 inches high. Its compact chassis can be placed discreetly in a cabinet, on a shelf or alongside a television without requiring the space of a conventional full-size component.
 
Control is available through the HEOS app, while Ethernet, Wi-Fi, IR learning and TCP/IP control make the MODEL M1 suitable for integrated home systems. It is compatible with Control4, Crestron and AMX control systems.
