The Marantz MODEL 60n is a network integrated amplifier designed to combine traditional two-channel hi-fi with built-in high-resolution streaming. It uses a 60-watt-per-channel Class A/B amplifier, Marantz HDAM-SA3 and SA2 circuitry, a toroidal power transformer, MM phono input, HDMI ARC, and HEOS network streaming.
 
The MODEL 60n is rated at 60 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 80 watts per channel into 4 ohms. Its current-feedback amplifier section and 100+ damping factor provide solid loudspeaker control, while the analog circuitry is designed around Marantz's HDAM modules and a symmetrical PCB layout.
 
Class A/B Amplification
The MODEL 60n uses a discrete Class A/B power amplifier with current-feedback topology. A toroidal power transformer and Linear Drive Power Supply provide the power supply foundation, while aluminum extrusion heat sinks manage the amplifier's output stage.
 
The amplifier delivers 60W + 60W into 8 ohms and 80W + 80W into 4 ohms. With a frequency response extending from 5Hz to 100kHz and 0.02% total harmonic distortion, it provides the bandwidth and low-distortion performance expected from a dedicated two-channel amplifier.
 
Marantz HDAM Circuitry
The MODEL 60n uses Marantz HDAM-SA3 and SA2 circuits in its analog signal path. These discrete modules are designed for high-speed signal handling and are paired with high-grade and customized components throughout the amplifier.
A symmetrical circuit-board layout and Source Direct operation help keep the analog signal path straightforward. Bass and treble controls are available when system adjustment is needed, with ±10dB of adjustment at 50Hz and 15kHz respectively.
 
HEOS High-Resolution Streaming
Built-in HEOS gives the MODEL 60n direct access to network music without requiring a separate streamer. It supports services including TIDAL, Qobuz, Amazon Music HD, Pandora, Deezer, SiriusXM and TuneIn, along with Spotify Connect, AirPlay 2 and Bluetooth.
 
The MODEL 60n is Roon Ready and supports high-resolution network playback, including DSD, FLAC, ALAC and WAV. HEOS also allows the amplifier to participate in a multi-room system with other compatible HEOS products.
 
Built-In DAC and Digital Inputs
The MODEL 60n includes a built-in digital-to-analog converter with coaxial, optical and USB-A inputs. PCM playback is supported up to 192kHz/24-bit, while DSD playback is supported up to DSD256/11.2MHz.
 
This allows the MODEL 60n to serve as the central component of a system with a computer, CD transport, digital streamer or other digital source, without requiring a separate DAC.
 
HDMI ARC for TV Audio
An HDMI ARC connection allows the MODEL 60n to serve as the audio component in a two-channel television system. A compatible TV can send its audio directly to the amplifier while HDMI-CEC provides convenient control of compatible functions.
 
For additional sources, the MODEL 60n provides coaxial and optical digital inputs as well as conventional analog connections.
 
MM Phono Stage and Subwoofer Output
A built-in MM phono stage provides a direct connection for a moving-magnet turntable. The phono input has a sensitivity of 1.9mV and an 87dB signal-to-noise ratio.
 
A dedicated mono subwoofer output makes it possible to add a powered subwoofer to the system. The MODEL 60n also includes a conventional preamp output and a front-panel headphone output.
 
Modern Marantz Design
The MODEL 60n uses Marantz's contemporary industrial design, with a metal front panel, aluminum controls and a low-noise monochrome OLED display. The chassis includes an aluminum extrusion heat sink and Marantz SPKT-1+ speaker terminals.
 
Available in Black and Silver-Gold, the MODEL 60n provides a compact way to build a complete two-channel system around streaming, vinyl, digital sources and television audio.
