High-Resolution Streaming, DAC and Preamplifier
The Eversolo DMP-A6 Gen 2 combines a high-resolution music streamer, DAC and preamplifier in a compact aluminum chassis. Designed as the central digital component in a two-channel system, it provides extensive streaming and local playback capabilities, high-resolution digital conversion, balanced analog outputs, HDMI ARC, and direct control from its 6-inch touchscreen or Eversolo's mobile app. The Gen 2 builds on the original DMP-A6 with an upgraded linear power supply, HDMI ARC, 12V trigger output and Wake-on-LAN functionality.
 
Dual-DAC Architecture
The DMP-A6 Gen 2 uses two ESS ES9038Q2M DAC chips, with separate devices handling the left and right channels. Its XMOS XU316 audio interface supports native DSD512 and PCM resolution up to 768kHz/32-bit. Eversolo also uses a fully balanced circuit architecture from the DAC section through the analog output stage, with both balanced XLR and single-ended RCA outputs.
The DMP-A6 Gen 2 incorporates dual low-jitter clock synchronization to maintain precise timing throughout digital playback. Eversolo's EOS audio engine is designed to avoid unnecessary sample-rate conversion, while its EVC output engine provides precise digital volume control.
 
Upgraded Linear Power Supply
A major Gen 2 upgrade is its ultra-low-noise linear power supply. Eversolo specifies power-supply noise below 40μV, providing a cleaner supply for the digital and analog circuitry. The chassis is CNC-machined from aerospace-grade aluminum, which also provides shielding against external interference.
A redesigned 6-inch high-definition touchscreen provides a clear interface for browsing music, adjusting settings and monitoring playback information. The system can also be controlled remotely using the Eversolo Control app on a phone or tablet.
 
Streaming and Local Music
The DMP-A6 Gen 2 provides access to a wide range of streaming services, including TIDAL, Qobuz, HIGHRESAUDIO, Amazon Music, Presto Music, Radio Paradise, TuneIn, Deezer and others. It supports Roon Ready, TIDAL Connect, UPnP, DLNA, WebDAV and network file sharing through NFS and SMB.
For local libraries, the player includes 32GB of eMMC storage and an M.2 NVMe SSD slot supporting drives up to 8TB. Two USB 3.0 ports can also be used with external storage. The built-in music library organizes local and online collections into a single interface, making large libraries easier to browse and search.
 
The DMP-A6 Gen 2 also supports CD playback and ripping when connected to a compatible USB optical drive, allowing physical discs to be played or transferred to a digital library.
 
Extensive Connectivity
Digital inputs include USB-C audio, optical, coaxial, HDMI ARC and Bluetooth 5.0. USB audio supports up to DSD512 and PCM 768kHz/32-bit, while optical and coaxial inputs support PCM up to 192kHz/24-bit. HDMI ARC provides an easy way to integrate television audio into a two-channel system.
 
Digital outputs include USB, optical and coaxial, while HDMI provides multichannel output with support for native DSD and PCM up to 5.1 channels. Balanced XLR and RCA analog outputs allow the DMP-A6 Gen 2 to function directly as a digital preamplifier for a power amplifier or powered speakers.
 
DSP and System Integration
A 10-band parametric EQ provides adjustment of frequency response and channel balance, giving users additional control over system voicing. The DMP-A6 Gen 2 also includes 12V trigger output for coordinated power control with compatible components and Wake-on-LAN, allowing the unit to be awakened remotely through the app when connected to a wired network.
