The Marantz AMP 30 is a six-channel power amplifier designed for high-performance home theater systems and flexible multichannel installations. It delivers 200 watts per channel into 8 ohms and up to 400 watts per channel into 4 ohms, using high-efficiency Class D amplification combined with Marantz's proprietary HDAM circuitry.
 
Its six-channel configuration makes the AMP 30 particularly useful as part of a modular home theater system. It can be paired with a Marantz AV preamplifier, AV receiver, or additional AMP 30, AMP 20, or AMP 10 amplifiers to accommodate larger speaker configurations.
 
Six Channels of Class D Power
The AMP 30 provides 200 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 400 watts per channel into 4 ohms. Two channels can also be combined in BTL mode for 400 watts into 8 ohms.
 
Marantz uses a high-efficiency, low-distortion Class D amplifier design to provide substantial power while keeping the chassis only 4.4 inches high. This makes the AMP 30 particularly practical for equipment racks and installations where vertical space is limited.
 
HDAM Circuitry
Marantz's proprietary HDAM technology is incorporated into the amplifier's signal path alongside the Class D output stages. The AMP 30 is designed to provide the dynamic capability required for movie soundtracks while maintaining the tonal character associated with Marantz amplification.
 
Flexible Configuration
The AMP 30 supports Normal, Bi-Amp, and BTL operating modes. Bi-amping allows separate amplifier channels to drive the high- and low-frequency sections of compatible speakers, while BTL mode combines two amplifier channels for higher power.
 
Six balanced and unbalanced amplifier inputs are provided, with a selector switch determining which input configuration is active. Six SPKT-1+ speaker terminals provide dedicated connections for all amplifier channels.
 
The AMP 30 can also be expanded with additional Marantz power amplifiers when a system requires more than six channels of amplification.
 
Custom Installation Features
For custom home theater installations, the AMP 30 includes RS-232 control, an IR flasher input, Marantz Remote Bus, and 12V DC trigger input and output. When paired with a compatible Marantz AV preamplifier, the included control cable allows power and illumination settings to be synchronized.
 
A front-panel porthole-style level meter provides a visual indication of amplifier operation, while the metal front panel and compact chassis maintain the distinctive Marantz design.
