The Marantz AV 30 is a dedicated AV preamplifier and processor designed for large media rooms and home theater systems using separate power amplifiers. With 11.4 channels of processing, balanced XLR and RCA outputs, four independent subwoofer outputs, HDMI 2.1 connectivity, and support for the latest immersive audio formats, the AV 30 provides a flexible foundation for a high-performance theater system.
 
Marantz combines its HDAM-SA2 discrete circuitry, current feedback topology, toroidal power transformer, copper-plated chassis, and Pure Direct signal path to keep the processing section focused on clean, accurate signal reproduction. The AV 30 also includes HEOS for high-resolution music streaming, Audyssey MultEQ XT32 room correction, and optional Dirac Live.
 
11.4-Channel Processing
The AV 30 can process up to 11.4 channels and supports Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, DTS:X Pro, Auro-3D, IMAX Enhanced, 360 Reality Audio, and MPEG-H. Its balanced architecture provides both RCA and XLR outputs for all processed channels, making it well suited to systems using separate power amplifiers.
Four independent subwoofer outputs allow individual subwoofers to be managed separately. This is particularly useful in larger rooms where multiple subwoofers are used to produce more consistent low-frequency response throughout the listening area.
 
HDMI 2.1 and 8K Video
Seven HDMI inputs support HDMI 2.1 features, with all seven inputs compatible with 8K video. The AV 30 supports 8K/60Hz and 4K/120Hz signals with bandwidth up to 40Gbps, along with 1080p and 4K-to-8K scaling.
 
Video support includes HDR10, HDR10+, Dynamic HDR, HLG, and Dolby Vision. Gaming features include Auto Low Latency Mode, Variable Refresh Rate, and Quick Frame Transport. Three HDMI outputs include an eARC-equipped main output and dedicated zone outputs.
 
Audyssey MultEQ XT32 and Dirac Live
Audyssey MultEQ XT32 provides automatic room correction using the included calibration microphone. Dynamic EQ, Dynamic Volume, and Audyssey LFC provide additional control over tonal balance, listening levels, and low-frequency content.
 
For systems requiring more advanced room optimization, the AV 30 is upgradeable to Dirac Live. Variable crossover settings, optimized bass redirection, and Bass Sync provide additional tools for integrating the main speakers and subwoofers.
 
Marantz HDAM and Reference Construction
The AV 30 uses Marantz HDAM-SA2 discrete circuitry and current feedback topology, along with a clock jitter reducer and Pure Direct mode. A toroidal power transformer and copper-plated chassis help provide a stable operating environment for the audio processing and analog output stages.
 
The front panel features Marantz's signature porthole OLED display, metal construction, and subtle side illumination. Balanced XLR connections are particularly useful when the processor is positioned separately from the power amplifiers or when longer interconnect runs are required.
 
HEOS High-Resolution Streaming
Built-in HEOS provides access to streaming services including Qobuz, TIDAL, Amazon Music, Spotify, Deezer, Pandora, TuneIn, and others. The AV 30 supports high-resolution FLAC, ALAC, and WAV files up to 192kHz/24-bit, as well as DSD streaming up to 5.6MHz.
 
HEOS also provides multi-room functionality, while AirPlay 2, Bluetooth, and Roon Ready support provide additional ways to integrate the AV 30 into a music system.
 
Custom Installation and Multi-Room
The AV 30 includes IP, RS-232, web, app, and IR control for integration into sophisticated home automation systems. Three DC trigger outputs are available for controlling connected amplifiers and other equipment.
 
Three multi-room zones provide additional flexibility, with support for network, USB, analog, optical, coaxial, and HDMI sources depending on the zone configuration.
