The Marantz CINEMA 30 is the flagship AV receiver in the CINEMA Series, combining 11 channels of Class A/B amplification with 13.4 channels of processing. With 140 watts per channel, seven 8K-capable HDMI inputs, four independent subwoofer outputs, Dolby Atmos, DTS:X Pro, Audyssey MultEQ XT32, and Dirac Live upgradeability, it is designed for large, high-performance home theater systems that need substantial processing and amplification in a single chassis.
 
Marantz uses many of the technologies found in its higher-end separates, including HDAM SA-2, current feedback circuitry, a dual-DAC architecture, a monolithic symmetrical amplifier design, and a toroidal power transformer. The CINEMA 30 is also built in Shirakawa, Japan, with a copper-plated chassis and metal front panel.
 
11.4 Channels of Class A/B Amplification
The CINEMA 30 provides 11 discrete amplifier channels rated at 140 watts per channel into 8 ohms with two channels driven. Its Class A/B amplifier section uses a monolithic symmetrical design and current feedback topology, giving the receiver the current capability needed for demanding multichannel systems.
The amplifier section can also be configured for bi-amping, while the 13.4-channel processing architecture provides additional flexibility for immersive surround configurations. The CINEMA 30 includes 13 speaker terminals and a full set of 13.4-channel preamp outputs, allowing it to be expanded with external amplification as a system grows.
 
Dolby Atmos, DTS:X Pro and 13.4-Channel Processing
The CINEMA 30 supports Dolby Atmos, DTS:X Pro, Auro-3D, IMAX Enhanced, Dolby Atmos Music, and other multichannel formats. Its 13.4-channel processing allows additional height and surround channels to be used even though the receiver itself has 11 powered channels.
 
Four independent subwoofer outputs allow multiple subwoofers to be configured individually, which is particularly useful in larger rooms where multiple subwoofers are used to improve bass consistency.
 
HDMI 2.1 and 8K Video
All seven HDMI inputs support 8K video, with HDMI 2.1 connectivity for 8K/60Hz and 4K/120Hz signals. Up to 40Gbps bandwidth is supported on compatible HDMI connections.
 
The CINEMA 30 supports HDR10+, HDR10, Dynamic HDR, HLG, and Dolby Vision, along with HDMI eARC. Gaming features include Auto Low Latency Mode, Variable Refresh Rate, and Quick Frame Transport. The receiver can also scale 1080p and 4K sources to 8K.
 
Audyssey MultEQ XT32 and Dirac Live
Audyssey MultEQ XT32 provides automatic room correction and speaker calibration using the included microphone. Dynamic EQ, Dynamic Volume, and Audyssey LFC provide additional control over tonal balance, listening levels, and low-frequency content.
 
The CINEMA 30 is also compatible with Dirac Live, including upgradeability for users who want more advanced room correction and optimization. Variable crossover settings, optimized bass redirection, and Bass Sync provide additional control over the integration between the main speakers and subwoofers.
 
Marantz HDAM and Reference Construction
The CINEMA 30 incorporates HDAM SA-2 circuitry, a dual-DAC configuration, current feedback topology, and a clock jitter reducer. A large toroidal power transformer supplies the amplifier and processing sections, while the copper-plated chassis helps isolate the internal circuitry from unwanted interference.
Pure Direct mode provides a more direct signal path when appropriate, while gold-plated RCA terminals provide durable connections for analog sources and external amplification.
 
HEOS Streaming and Multi-Room Audio
HEOS Built-in provides access to Qobuz, TIDAL, Amazon Music, Spotify Connect, Pandora, SiriusXM, Deezer, TuneIn, and other streaming services. The CINEMA 30 supports high-resolution network playback including FLAC, WAV, and ALAC up to 192kHz/24-bit, as well as DSD at 2.8MHz and 5.6MHz.
 
AirPlay 2, Bluetooth, and Roon Ready support provide additional music playback options. HEOS also allows compatible products throughout the home to be controlled through the same app.
 
Custom Installation
The CINEMA 30 includes IP, RS-232, web, app, IR, and Marantz Remote Bus control, along with three DC trigger outputs. Control4, OvrC, Josh.ai, Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple HomePod compatibility make it suitable for integration into sophisticated home automation systems.
 
Three independent zones provide additional flexibility for whole-home audio and video systems.
