The AudioSolutions Vantage S is the smallest floorstanding model in the Vantage 5th Anniversary range, but its compact appearance is misleading. It combines five drivers, a rigid Siberian Birch Plywood enclosure and a sophisticated multi-way crossover into a relatively small floorstanding cabinet.

The Vantage 5th Anniversary series was developed as AudioSolutions’ flagship line, evolving from the original Vantage Classic with a completely redesigned cabinet, new materials and a different approach to controlling resonance. The Vantage S uses the same construction philosophy as the larger models while concentrating it into a more compact enclosure.

Five-Driver Design

The Vantage S uses a 2.5cm beryllium-dome tweeter, a 13.5cm Egyptian Papyrus midrange, two 15cm SPC paper-cone bass drivers and a 22cm aluminum-cone down-firing woofer.

The midrange is a wideband design covering a large portion of the critical musical spectrum. The additional front-firing bass drivers provide low-frequency output while the larger down-firing woofer extends the response into the sub-bass region.

With five drivers per speaker, the Vantage S is capable of producing considerably more scale and dynamic output than its relatively compact dimensions suggest.

Beryllium Tweeter and Mini Horn

The 2.5cm beryllium tweeter combines low moving mass with high rigidity. AudioSolutions adds its mini-horn design to the tweeter to improve efficiency and reduce distortion in the critical transition region.

The result is a tweeter designed to maintain controlled dispersion and low distortion while integrating with the wideband midrange.

Siberian Birch Plywood Cabinet

The Vantage S uses SBP (Siberian Birch Plywood) for the internal labyrinth structure, sidewalls and curved top section. Siberian Birch is denser than conventional birch, providing a rigid foundation for the enclosure.

The cabinet is constructed from an 18-layer sandwich of thin, directionally oriented wood sheets combined with HDF in critical areas. Three different types of glue, each with different cured hardness, are used throughout the construction.

The curved cabinet surfaces also retain controlled internal stress in the plywood. AudioSolutions uses this characteristic to help dissipate vibrational energy rather than allowing it to accumulate as cabinet resonance.

Five-Way Crossover

The Vantage S uses crossover points at 50Hz, 200Hz and 8kHz to divide the work between its five drivers. This allows the dedicated down-firing woofer, front-firing bass drivers, wideband midrange and tweeter to operate within their intended frequency ranges.

The crossover uses high-quality Jantzen components and WBT bi-wiring terminals.

Cabinet Finish

The Vantage S uses a distinctive finish combining a highly durable polyurethane lacquer with crushed stone powder. The resulting surface has a matte appearance with subtle glittering particles and is designed to withstand everyday wear.

The rear of the cabinet and portions of the side panels use a high-grade 3D hexa-textured vinyl. The vivid exterior outlines are color customizable, allowing the appearance of the speaker to be tailored to the installation.
