The Marantz CINEMA 70s is a slimline 7.2-channel AV receiver designed for home theater systems where rack or cabinet space is limited. With seven discrete Class A/B amplifier channels, 50 watts per channel, Dolby Atmos and DTS:X processing, 8K video support, HEOS streaming, and Audyssey room correction, it combines a full set of modern home theater features with a chassis that is only 4.3 inches tall.
 
The CINEMA 70s supports 7.1-channel processing and provides 7.2-channel preamp outputs, allowing it to be used with external amplification when additional power is required. Two independent subwoofer outputs make it possible to integrate dual subwoofers, while assignable bi-amping provides additional flexibility for compatible speakers.
 
Slimline Home Theater Design
The CINEMA 70s is considerably smaller than a conventional full-size AV receiver, making it well suited for media consoles, built-in cabinetry, and compact theater installations. Despite its reduced height, it includes seven discrete amplifier channels and a comprehensive selection of analog, digital, HDMI, network, and streaming connections.
 
Dolby Atmos and DTS:X
The CINEMA 70s supports Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Atmos Music, Dolby Surround, and Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization, along with DTS:X, DTS-HD Master Audio, DTS Neural:X, and DTS Virtual:X. Its 7.1-channel processing can accommodate a range of surround configurations, including Dolby Atmos systems using height speakers.
 
8K HDMI and Advanced Video
Six HDMI inputs are provided, with three supporting 8K video. The receiver handles 8K/60Hz and 4K/120Hz signals and can upscale 1080p and 4K sources to 8K. HDMI features include eARC, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HDR10, HLG, Dynamic HDR, Variable Refresh Rate, Quick Frame Transport, Auto Low Latency Mode, and HDMI standby pass-through.
 
Audyssey Room Correction
Audyssey MultEQ automatically measures the room and adjusts the system to compensate for the effects of room acoustics. Dynamic EQ and Dynamic Volume are also included, along with adjustable crossovers and optimized bass redirection. The CINEMA 70s does not support Dirac Live.
 
HEOS Streaming and Multi-Room Audio
HEOS Built-in provides access to network music and major streaming services, including TIDAL, Qobuz, Spotify Connect, Amazon Music, Pandora, SiriusXM, Deezer, iHeartRadio, TuneIn, Napster, and SoundCloud. AirPlay 2 and Bluetooth are also supported. High-resolution network playback includes FLAC, WAV, and ALAC up to 192kHz/24-bit, as well as DSD up to 5.6MHz.
 
The CINEMA 70s can operate in two zones and supports control through the HEOS app, Marantz AVR Remote app, IP, web control, and integration with Alexa, Google Assistant, Apple HomePod, Control4, and OvrC.
