The Marantz CINEMA 60 is a 7.2-channel AV receiver designed for high-performance home theater and music systems where a full set of immersive features is needed without the size and complexity of a larger multichannel receiver. It delivers 100 watts per channel into 8 ohms, supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, and includes 8K video, HEOS streaming, Audyssey MultEQ XT room correction, and HDMI 2.1 connectivity.
 
The CINEMA 60 uses discrete Class A/B amplification, current feedback topology, and Marantz HDAM circuitry. Its 7.2-channel architecture provides seven powered channels and two independent subwoofer outputs, while the receiver can also be used as a 7.2-channel preamplifier for external amplification.
 
7.2 Channels of Class A/B Amplification
The CINEMA 60 provides seven discrete Class A/B amplifier channels rated at 100 watts per channel into 8 ohms from 20Hz to 20kHz with two channels driven. The amplifier section uses Marantz's current feedback topology and can be configured for bi-amping.
 
With seven speaker terminals and 7.2-channel processing, the CINEMA 60 is well suited to conventional 5.1 systems, 7.1 systems, and Dolby Atmos configurations using additional height channels.
 
Dolby Atmos and DTS:X
The CINEMA 60 supports Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Atmos, Dolby Atmos Music, Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization, Dolby Surround, DTS-HD Master Audio, DTS:X, DTS Neural:X, and DTS Virtual:X.
 
Two independent subwoofer outputs provide flexible bass management, while Audyssey MultEQ XT automatically measures and corrects the system for the listening room.
 
HDMI 2.1 and 8K Video
The CINEMA 60 has six HDMI inputs, with three supporting 8K signals. HDMI connectivity supports 8K/60Hz and 4K/120Hz video, along with HDMI eARC.
HDR10, HDR10+, Dynamic HDR, HLG, and Dolby Vision are supported. Gaming features include Auto Low Latency Mode, Variable Refresh Rate, and Quick Frame Transport. The receiver can also upscale 1080p and 4K sources to 8K.
 
Audyssey MultEQ XT
Audyssey MultEQ XT provides automatic room correction and speaker calibration using the included microphone. Dynamic EQ and Dynamic Volume provide additional control over tonal balance and listening levels.
 
The CINEMA 60 also includes variable crossover adjustment and optimized bass redirection. Unlike the CINEMA 40 and CINEMA 50, the CINEMA 60 does not support Dirac Live.
 
HDAM and Two-Channel Performance
Marantz uses its proprietary HDAM circuitry in the CINEMA 60's signal path. Pure Direct mode provides a more direct signal path when desired, making the receiver suitable for both movie playback and two-channel music listening.
A dedicated MM phono input allows a turntable to be connected directly, while four additional analog inputs accommodate conventional line-level sources. The receiver also includes optical and coaxial digital inputs and a front USB-A connection.
 
HEOS High-Resolution Streaming
HEOS Built-in provides access to Qobuz, TIDAL, Amazon Music, Spotify Connect, Pandora, SiriusXM, Deezer, TuneIn, and other streaming services. The CINEMA 60 supports high-resolution network playback including FLAC, WAV, and ALAC up to 192kHz/24-bit, as well as DSD at 2.8MHz and 5.6MHz.
 
Roon Tested, AirPlay 2, and Bluetooth provide additional ways to play music. HEOS also allows compatible Marantz and HEOS products to be grouped for multi-room playback.
 
Custom Installation and Multi-Room
The CINEMA 60 includes IP, RS-232, web, app, IR, and Marantz Remote Bus control. Control4, OvrC, and Josh.ai compatibility allow it to integrate into professionally installed home automation systems.
 
Two multi-room zones provide additional flexibility, while a DC trigger output can be used to control compatible external equipment.
