The Marantz NR1510 is a slimline 5.2-channel AV receiver designed for systems where space is limited but full home theater and network audio features are still required. Its chassis is roughly half the height of a conventional AV receiver, while five discrete amplifier channels provide 50 watts per channel into 8 ohms.
 
The NR1510 combines 4K HDMI connectivity, Dolby Audio, HEOS streaming, Audyssey MultEQ room correction, a built-in MM phono stage, Bluetooth, AirPlay 2 and high-resolution network playback in a compact chassis.
 
Slimline 5.2-Channel Design
The NR1510 provides five discrete power amplifier channels and supports up to a 5.2-channel speaker configuration. Each of the front, center and surround channels is rated at 50 watts into 8 ohms from 20Hz to 20kHz.
 
The receiver is designed for speakers from 4 to 16 ohms and includes a Pure Direct mode that bypasses unnecessary processing for a more direct signal path.
 
4K HDMI Connectivity
Six HDMI inputs provide connections for Blu-ray players, game consoles, streaming devices and other HDMI sources. The HDMI section supports 4K Ultra HD video, HDR10, Dolby Vision, HLG and BT.2020, along with HDCP 2.2.
One HDMI output supports ARC/eARC for sending television audio back to the receiver. The NR1510 also supports HDMI-CEC for convenient system control.
 
Dolby and DTS Surround Sound
The NR1510 supports Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Surround and DTS-HD Master Audio decoding. Its 5.1-channel processing is suited to conventional surround systems, while Multichannel Stereo can distribute a stereo source across the available speaker channels.
 
Unlike Marantz's newer Atmos-equipped CINEMA receivers, the NR1510 does not support Dolby Atmos, DTS:X or DTS Virtual:X.
 
Audyssey MultEQ Room Correction
Audyssey MultEQ automatically measures the characteristics of the speakers and listening room and applies correction to help compensate for acoustic irregularities. Audyssey Dynamic EQ maintains tonal balance at lower listening levels, while Dynamic Volume helps reduce large differences in volume between programs and commercials.
 
The NR1510 also includes Marantz's MDAX2 compressed-audio enhancement and Pure Direct mode.
 
HEOS High-Resolution Streaming
Built-in HEOS gives the NR1510 access to network music without requiring a separate streamer. Supported services include Spotify Connect, TIDAL, Deezer, Amazon Music, Pandora and TuneIn.
 
The receiver supports FLAC, ALAC and WAV files up to 192kHz/24-bit, along with DSD streaming up to 5.6MHz. AirPlay 2 and Bluetooth provide additional wireless playback options, and Bluetooth headphone transmission allows compatible headphones to be used without speakers.
 
HEOS multi-room allows the NR1510 to be grouped with other compatible HEOS products for synchronized playback throughout the home.
 
Built-In MM Phono Stage
A dedicated MM phono input allows a turntable to be connected directly to the NR1510. The phono stage has a 2.5mV input sensitivity and 74dB signal-to-noise ratio, making it possible to include vinyl playback without a separate phono preamplifier.
 
The receiver also provides analog line-level inputs, optical and coaxial digital inputs, USB-A playback and Ethernet/Wi-Fi connectivity.
 
Compact Installation
The NR1510 measures approximately 17.3 inches wide but only about 4.1 inches high, making it particularly useful for equipment racks, cabinets and media consoles where vertical space is restricted.
 
The front panel includes a clean, straightforward display and controls, while the rear panel provides the connections needed for a complete 5.2-channel home theater and two-channel music system.
